it’s never that simple

So my next story, Aisle Five, Halfway Down, Top Shelf, is approaching “done.” Extraneous crap removed, structural flaws resolved, ambiguities clarified. Most importantly, it passed the Liza test; she laughed.

Now proofing and polishing, and thus beginneth the Search for the Cover. There are a number of good artists on fiverr.com who have quite reasonable prices, so that’s where I’ll likely look again. But damn, it wouldn’t ever have occurred to me that I would be digging through hundreds, of stock photos, looking for something that works for a story about supermarkets, swearing, a lady in a wheelchair, and a terror-inspiring cashier…and finding stuff.

I still dunno what the hell I’ll do for cover art with the full story collection. I’d love to have some original artwork, but I know that will get hella pricey. Well, maybe between now and then I’ll win the lottery.
